Brainspotting Therapy

A Somatic Pathway to Empowerment and Emotional Release

Have you ever caught yourself gazing into space, almost as if in an altered state of consciousness?

Or noticed how people’s eyes move while they’re talking, thinking, or recalling something?

These subtle shifts in eye movement indicate a powerful connection between where we look and how we process emotions in our brains.

What Is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is a cutting-edge approach in somatic psychotherapy that leverages the natural scanning mechanism of your visual field. By focusing on specific eye positions, we can access deeper parts of the brain to effectively process and release emotions, stress, and trauma.

Somatic therapy is all about shifting from thinking about our issues to truly feeling and experiencing them in the body. While traditional talk therapy helps you understand your problems conceptually in the mind, somatic therapy helps you to release the underlying causes of those issues through the body’s sensations and emotions.

How Does It Work?

In Brainspotting, we explore your inner world of feelings and sensations by using your eye position to pinpoint the exact areas of the brain and subconscious mind that need attention. This process can help release psycho-somatic issues such as unexplained pain, emotional blocks, relational entanglements, and trauma from various sources such as developmental (early life experiences), post-developmental (traumas faced later in life), and inter-generational (trauma passed down through generations).

What’s the Outcome?

Brainspotting doesn’t just help you process painful emotions—it can also guide your body toward resilience. As we work together, you’ll discover sensations of peace, calm, and deep presence. This is a profound way to connect with your body’s natural ability to heal and restore itself.

Brainspotting is highly adaptable, intuitive, and works seamlessly with other therapeutic approaches. Whether you’re dealing with trauma, stress, anxiety, or relational issues, Brainspotting can be a powerful tool to help you feel more grounded and empowered.
